Commercial Robbery (UPDATE) - Glen Burnie
On October 24, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the Shell gas station located at 501 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie for a robbery. Upon arrival, store employees stated that two suspects entered the store and one suspected displayed a handgun and demanded money. Store employees complied and the suspects fled the store. Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

Through evidence gathered during the investigation, Robbery Detectives were able to positively identify one of the suspects involved in this robbery. Detectives completed an Application for Charges on the suspect and an arrest warrant was granted on October 31, 2017. On November 1, 2017, detectives were able to locate and arrest the suspect. A search warrant was conducted at the suspect’s residence and numerous items related to the robbery were recovered. The investigation into the identity of the second suspect continues.

Drowning - Shady Side
On November 2, 2017 at approximately 3:56 p.m., officers along with the Maryland Natural Resources Police responded to Cedarhurst on the Bay Fishing Pier (Chesapeake Ave/Bay View Ave) in Shady Side for a report of a body in the water next to the pier. When officers arrived, they located and recovered the body of a deceased adult male.
The deceased was positively identified as 40 year old Marcus Ruben Lee of Shady Side. Lee’s remains were transported to Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the final cause and manner of death. Preliminary investigation indicates this appears to be an accidental drowning.
