Western District
Attempted Citizen Robbery - Severn
On March 24, 2018 at approximately 2:02 a.m., officers responded to the 8200 block of Monhegan Court in Severn for an attempted citizen robbery. The adult male victim stated that he was approached by the suspects and one struck him in the head several times while the other held him and demanded his money. The victim refused and the suspects fled on foot.
Several officers responded to canvass the area and located one of the suspects. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended and arrested. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for a head injury. Detectives continue to investigate and our attempting to identify the second and third suspects.

Northern District
Citizen Robbery - Glen Burnie
On March 26, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Wimmer Road in Glen Burnie for a citizen robbery. The adult male intoxicated victim stated that he was approached by four suspects who demanded money. He stated that complied and one suspect struck him with a baseball bat. The suspects then fled in an unknown make/model vehicle. Several officers responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate either the suspects or the suspect vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital as a precaution where he was treated and released.

Fatal Overdose - Glen Burnie
On March 24, 2018 at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center located at 600 E Ordnance Road in Glen Burnie for injured/sick subject. When officers arrived they spoke with Detention Center staff who stated they were alerted at 11:55 a.m. by inmates that another inmate was sitting on his bed unresponsive. Detention Center staff immediately responded to the inmate and began life saving efforts. Fire department responded and continued lifesaving efforts however were unsuccessful in resuscitating the inmate and he was pronounced deceased. One empty clear capsule of suspected heroin was recovered from beneath the inmate’s bed. Detectives from the Heroin Task Force responded and are currently investigating.
