Fatal Injury Pedestrian Crash - Severna Park (Update)
On March 16, 2018 at approximately 3:25 a.m. officers responded to a pedestrian struck on southbound Governor Ritchie Highway (MD-2) north of Whites Road in Severna Park. Investigation showed a tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Ritchie Highway when the pedestrian stepped out into the travel lane and was struck by the tractor trailer. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene and was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The preliminary cause of the crash was the failure of the pedestrian crossing outside of a crosswalk to yield right of way to vehicles on the roadway. Neither speed nor drug/alcohol use is suspected by the driver. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and any charges would be after review by the States Attorney.

Western District
1st Degree Assault/Weapons Violation - Hanover
On March 15, 2018 at approximately 11:23 p.m., officers responded to 7000 Arundel Mills Circle for a 1st Degree Assault/weapons violation. When officers arrived they located the suspect running in the parking lot and he was quickly taken into custody. Officers met with an adult male victim that stated the suspect confronted him, displayed a handgun, and then walked away in the parking lot. A second victim, an adult female, stated she was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car when the suspect approached her, displayed a gun, entered the vehicle, and demanded she drive. The victim complied but was unable to drive the vehicle. The suspect jumped from the vehicle and was apprehended by the officers. During a search of the suspect a loaded .22 caliber handgun was located in his pants pocket. He was arrested and charged accordingly.

Commercial Robbery (UPDATE) - Glen Burnie
On March 11, 2018 at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at the Walgreens located at 7953 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. An employee stated that one suspect entered the store, displayed a firearm, and demanded money while the second suspect acted as a “lookout”. Several units responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects. There were no injuries.
Suspects:
1) Black male 25-30 years old, 6'0”, large build, dark clothing, wearing a white surgical style mask
2) Black male 6'0”, light colored clothing with a black hat
UPDATE:
Through investigation, Commercial Robbery Unit detectives were able to identify Alan Michael Josey as the suspect in this incident. An arrest warrant was obtained and on March 14, 2018 Josey was located in Charles County and taken into custody. Josey also had active warrants in Prince Georges County and was transported to Prince Georges County Detention Facility and served his warrants. He is currently incarcerated in Prince Georges County and is awaiting extradition to Anne Arundel County. Detectives are still attempting to identify the second suspect or “look out” in this case.
