CDS/Handgun Arrest Brooklyn Park

On June 21, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer patrolling the Brooklyn Park area observed a Honda Accord with a broken tail light. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the area of Walton Avenue and Ritchie Highway. While speaking with the driver, the driver admitted to having marihuana in the vehicle.

A check of the driver revealed that he had open warrants for failure to appear in court.  Upon arresting the driver, the officer located a small bag of marihuana (3.54 grams), 27 baggies of crack cocaine (4.69 grams) on his person, and a loaded Glock 23 handgun in the center console of the vehicle.  The driver was charged with several drug and handgun charges.
