WESTERN DISTRICT

SERIOUS INJURY CRASH - ODENTON

On July 27, 2017 at approximately 9:31a.m., officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Annapolis Road (MD-175) at Baldwin Rd in Odenton.

The Chevy was turning left (southbound) onto Annapolis Rd (MD-175) from westbound Baldwin Rd when it was struck on the driver’s side door by the northbound Ford.  The driver of the Chevy suffered critical injuries and was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.  The driver and passenger of the Ford were not injured.

The preliminary cause of the crash was the Chevy driver’s failure to yield right of way on a left turn.  Neither speed nor alcohol/drug use was a contributing factor.

The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and any charges will be after review by the State’s Attorney.
