Police Press Release for March 8, 2016

Commercial Robbery                                                                                               Laurel            

On March 7, 2016 at approximately 6:46 a.m., officers responded to a commercial armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station located at 3460 Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel.

The clerk advised that the below suspect entered the store asking the clerk for two packs of cigarettes.  The suspect attempted to pay for the cigarettes with two gift cards not accepted by the business.   At this time the suspect produced a knife, pointing it at the clerk demanding the cigarettes.  The clerk turned the cigarettes over to the suspect fearing he would be harmed.  The suspect exited the business and was last seen running on foot. The area was canvassed by numerous officers with negative results.  Detectives responded to the scene and the investigation is continuing.  The clerk was not injured in this incident.  

Suspect:  Black male, approximately 30-35 years old, wearing dark clothing
