Police Press Release for March 22, 2016

WESTERN DISTRICT

Residential Burglary -  Severn                                                                                                                             

On March 21, 2015 at approximately 3:30 in the afternoon, Officers responded to a residence located in the 7800 Blk. Walnut Grove Rd. Severn, Md. 21144 for a burglary that just occurred.

Investigation revealed the below suspect entered the dwelling by an unsecured rear sliding door.  Once inside he removed several pieces of jewelry and two glass jars full of coins.  He was spotted on the back porch of the dwelling by a teenager of the house, who the suspect did not know was in the house. The father, home owner, arrived home about the same time and spotted the suspect vehicle in the driveway.  He then spotted the suspect on the back porch. The homeowner was able to provide the tag number to the suspect vehicle and officers responded to the registered address taking the suspect into custody without incident upon his arrival at the location.  Recovered was the jewelry in suspect’s pockets and the change was left behind on the back porch when he was spotted by the vehicle.  The suspect was positively identified by the victims.  He was transported to Western District and charged with first degree burglary, third degree burglary, theft less than ten thousand, resisting arrest for the brief foot pursuit that took place, and driving revoked.  No one was injured in this incident

Suspect:  Houck, George William 37 year-old from the 7900 block of Allard Ct. Severn, Md. 21144

Suspect Vehicle:  Md. tag 9BH2489 a silver Toyota Corolla listed to suspect’s girlfriend of the suspect address. 

 

 

 

 

Attempted Robbery                                                                                                  Odenton

At 0428 a.m. officers responded to the BP gas station at 8749 Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton for a report of an attempted armed robbery.  The store clerk advised that a white male entered the store and demanded cash while armed with a handgun. The clerk refused the suspect's demands and the suspect ran out of the station; making good his escape. Responding officers, to include K-9 units, searched the area and were unable to locate the suspect.

 

Suspect: White male, no further description at this time.

 

EASTERN DISTRICT

 

Bank Robbery                                                                                                           Pasadena

                                                                                                                                                                 

On March 21, 2016 at approximately 11:51 a.m., officers responded to the Bank of America, located at 8480 Fort Smallwood Road for a bank robbery.  Bank employees stated that the suspect entered the bank, implied he had a weapon, and demanded money.  The bank teller complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before the suspect fled on foot.

 

Several officers, including K-9 Units responded and canvassed the area with negative resultsRobbery detectives responded and are investigating. Anyone with information in reference this case should call Anne Arundel County Police Robbery Unit at (410) 222-4720. The Maryland Association for Bank Security, (MABS), is offering up to $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the subject(s) responsible for this offense.

 

Suspect:   White male, 18-30 years old, thin build
