HEROIN TASK FORCE

Heroin/Gun Arrest - Westport

On December 20, 2016, at approximately 9:15 a.m., the Anne Arundel County Heroin Task Force, which is comprised of members from the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office, the Annapolis Police Department and the Baltimore Police Department, with the assistance of Baltimore Police SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 2200 Block of Cedley Street in Baltimore City.  The warrant was the result of a five month long investigation into drug trafficking in the Anne Arundel County and Baltimore City Area.  During a search of the residence, detectives recovered heroin, U. S. currency, and a handgun.

As a result of this operation, detectives seized the following:

·         159.2 grams of heroin (approximate street value $19,104.00)

·         Cutting agent

·         Digital scale

·         Approximately 250 empty gel-capsules

·         Various manufacturing/packaging equipment and material

·         $18,938.00 in U.S. currency

·         Electronic money counter

  • Jennings Stainless Steel .22 caliber handgun with obliterated serial number
  • 100 Rounds of .22 Ammunition

NORTHERN DISTRICT

 

Commercial Robbery - Linthicum

On December 20, 2016, at approximately 5:03 p.m., officers responded to the Wells Fargo located at 721 Hammonds Ferry Road in Linthicum for a robbery. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the manager who stated that a female entered the bank and produced a note demanding money.  The female then quickly left the bank before receiving any currency. She was last seen on foot to the rear of the business.  Officers along with K9 and police helicopter canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. 

 

Commercial Robbery - Brooklyn

On December 20, 2016, at approximately 8:30 pm, officers responded to the 7-11 Store located at 5617 Ritchie Hwy in Brooklyn for an armed robbery.  Officers spoke with the clerk who stated that a male dressed in dark clothing entered the business, pointed a gun at the clerk, and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Officers along with K9 and police helicopter canvassed the area but were unable locate the suspect.
