Police Press Release for December 1, 2016: Update
EASTERN DISTRICT
Barricade/Departmental Shooting (UPDATE) - Glen Burnie
On November 29, 2016 at approximately 8:47 pm, officers responded for an armed subject at 8093 Phirne Road E in Glen Burnie. This call for service ultimately ended in a barricade and a police involved shooting. The suspect, identified as 20 year old Bradley McMillian, who was inside the residence alone, eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody. McMillian was transported to a local hospital for a non-life threatening injury. He still remains at that hospital.
During the barricade/shooting, it was learned that a 67 year old female, who was in a neighboring residence was struck with a projectile during the shooting. She was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma for a non-life threatening injury to her head/neck area. She is currently in stable condition.
The officers involved in this shooting have been placed on routine administrative leave. They are identified as the following:
1) Sgt. Breeden (27) years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
2) Sgt. Coking (24) years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
3) Ofc. Beavers (3) years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
4) Ofc. Moore (2) years of service with the Anne Arundel County Police Department
This is still a very active investigation and detectives are still examining recovered evidence as well as interviewing several individuals related to this case. The case will also be reviewed by the department’s Professional Standards Unit as well as the State’s Attorney’s Office as is standard procedure. There is no further information at this time. Any additional updates will be proved when available.
