Police Press Release December 5, 2017
Citizen Armed Robbery (UPDATE/ARESTS) - Severn
On November 25, 2017 at approximately 9:45 pm, officers responded to the 7800 block of Coldbrooke Drive in Severn to investigate a robbery of a citizen. The victims reported that when they arrived home, they were approached by three unidentified suspects. One of the suspects pointed an unknown caliber handgun at them, physically assaulted both victims, and demanded their property. The suspects fled the scene with the victim's property and US currency. The victims did not require medical attention for their injuries.
Suspects: Three males wearing dark clothing
Detectives from Western District began investigating this incident and learned that this was the second time that the same victims were robbed at their residence since September 5, 2017. The victims own a business in Baltimore City and it appears that they were targeted and followed home after closing their business.
Detectives determined that the suspects used the victim's credit card to make purchases at a Walmart in Baltimore County, which resulted in surveillance images that lead to their identification. Information was also obtained linking the same suspects to similar robberies that were occurring in Baltimore County after business owners left other businesses in Baltimore City and traveled home where they were also robbed.
Detectives applied for charges through the District Court of Maryland and three arrest warrants were issued charging the three suspect including one adult and two juveniles with armed robbery, firearms charges, theft, credit card fraud, and related charges. Detainers have been placed on two of the subjects who were already incarcerated and the third suspect was arrested in Baltimore City.
