NORTHERN DISTRICT

 

 

Attempted Robbery/Stolen Handgun Arrest                                              Glen Burnie

                       

On December 9, 2016 at 7:53 pm, officers responded to the Denny’s Restaurant located at 6302 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a fight. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect in the parking lot, holding a baseball bat and threatening individuals who were inside a vehicle. Investigation revealed that the suspect had gotten into an altercation with the adult male victim a short distance away at the Days Inn, located at 6600 Ritchie Highway. The victim stated that the suspect displayed a handgun and attempted to rob him so he fled in his vehicle. He stated the suspect pursued him ramming his vehicle several times until they reached the Denny’s parking lot.

 

The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of 38 various OxyContin pills and a loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver. A check of the gun showed that it was reported stolen from Baltimore County.  The suspect was transported to Northern District where he was processed and charged with attempted robbery and 1st degree assault, along with various drug, weapons and theft charges.

CDS Possession w/Intent                                                                              Brooklyn Park

 

            On December 10, 2016 detectives from the Northern District Tactical Patrol Unit (TPU) were patrolling in the Brooklyn Park area.  At approximately 12:23 am, detectives observed a Nissan Xterra traveling south on Ritchie Highway near Church Street with only the parking lights illuminated.  Due to the traffic infraction, detectives conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on Ritchie Highway near Camrose Avenue.

 

            When detectives approached the Nissan, they immediately noticed the strong odor of marihuana emanating from inside the vehicle.  In the backseat, detectives observed a passenger stuffing a bag down the front of his pants.  During a search of that passenger, the bag was found to contain 34 vials of crack cocaine, and a baggy containing approximately five grams of crack cocaine.  The subject was also in possession of $771.  During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a glass mason jar where the backseat passenger was sitting.  The jar contained approximately 11 grams of marijuana. The suspect was arrested and transported to Northern District.

-Possession and possession with intent crack cocaine

-Possession of marihuana

 

 

 

 

EASTERN DISTRICT

 

Shooting                                                                                                         Glen Burnie

                                                           

On Friday December 9, 2016 at approximately 7:39 pm, officers responded to the 8000 block of Green Orchard Road for a report of shots heard in the area.  Several citizens called 911 to advise they heard multiple shots, but did not see anything.  Responding officers located several shell casings and bullet holes into the building façade and a lower level storage closet.

 

A resident of that building advised that prior to the gunshots, he was standing outside of his apartment when observed a blue car, possibly a Honda arrive in the parking lot.  Almost immediately after the arrival of that Honda, the gunshots were heard. The resident could not provide a description of the suspect, or any further description of the vehicle.

 

There were no injuries or victims, and no other property damage was discovered. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 911 or 410-222-8610 (non-emergency line).

 

Possible Suspect Vehicle: Blue four door car, possibly a Honda
