Hit and Run/Assault Brooklyn Park
On April 3, 2017 at approximately 3:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Brookwood Road and 11th Avenue East (near Alley 27) in Brooklyn Park for a report of a hit and run/pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers learned that an altercation had taken place earlier in the afternoon between two separate groups of subjects. During the initial contact, one of the male subjects advised that the group would be back to continue the dispute/altercation. That group returned a short time later to a residence in the 4900 block of Brookwood Road to continue the altercation. When they arrived, multiple residents of the Brookwood Road home exited the residence to confront the group. One of the residents was intentionally struck by a vehicle being driven by a member of the other group. That vehicle then fled the scene.
The adult male victim was transported via ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma and is currently listed in stable condition. Several witnesses/associates have been interviewed and the investigation continues. There is no further information at this time. Any updates will be provided when they become available.

Shots Fired Brooklyn Park
On April 3, 2017 at approximately 6:32 p.m., officers responded to Riverview Road at Alley 26 (near Old Riverside Rd) in Brooklyn Park for reports of shots fired. The investigation revealed that an unknown subject fired several shots from Riverview Road W., south into Alley 26 towards Arden Road. That subject and another unknown subject fled the scene in a silver four door sedan with dark tinted windows and a sunroof. Seven .45 caliber casing were recovered at the scene. A neighborhood canvass was completed and there were no injuries or property damage located in the area.
