Fatal Accident Odenton
On July 4, 2017 at approximately 10:27 p.m., officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on Annapolis Road in the area of Charter Oaks Boulevard in Odenton. Investigation showed that a Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on Annapolis Road. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Nissan lost control of the vehicle and crossed into northbound lane. The Nissan then collided with a Ford Mustang that was traveling northbound on Annapolis Road. The Nissan then drove off the roadway and into the BP gas station located at 1604 Annapolis Road striking a fuel pump.
The driver of the Nissan Maxima was pronounced dead on the scene. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. The driver of the Mustang complained of minor injuries, but refused treatment on the scene. The preliminary cause of the crash is the Maxima’s failure to stay right of center. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and any charges are pending review by the State’s Attorney.
