Western District
Stabbing/Shooting Odenton
On December 25, 2017 at approximately 4:53 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Eagle Landing Court in Odenton for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a 17 year old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The investigation revealed that the female had gotten into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. During the altercation, the juvenile stabbed the new girlfriend. The ex-boyfriend then, produced a handgun and fired one shot at the 17 year old striking her in the leg.
The male and the female victim fled from the scene and later arrived at Laurel Regional Hospital to seek treatment for the female’s stab wound to her back. She was admitted and treated for the non-life threatening injury. The male was placed under arrest at the hospital and transported to Western District where he was charged with attempted murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, and firearm related charges.
The 17 year old female was transported to Shock Trauma where she was treated and released for the non-life-threatening injury to her leg.. She was placed under arrest and transported to Western District, where she was charged with attempted murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, and other related charges.

Vehicle Crash (Update) Churchton
On December 24th, 2017 at 5:31 p.m. officers responded to a report of a crash involving three vehicles on Deale Churchton Road near Franklin Manor Road in Churchton.
Initial investigation found that Vehicle #1 was northbound on Deale Churchton Rd at a high rate of speed when it drifted across the centerline and sideswiped vehicle #2 before striking vehicle #3 head on in the southbound lane.
The primary cause of this collision is the driver failing to remain right of center. Alcohol, speed and wet roadway conditions are suspected to be contributing factors. The Traffic Safety Section is handing the investigation and charges, if any, will be after review by the State’s Attorney.
Update:
In the early morning hours of December 25, 2017, Jean Elizabeth Dieux died as a result of her injuries. The at fault driver, James Houle is now expected to survive.
