19th Annual Kindertime Toy Drive                                                             Baltimore


The Anne Arundel County Police Department is excited to again participate along with multiple area agencies in the 19th annual Kindertime Toy Drive. The Toy Drive is taking place today, December 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Huber Community Life Center located at 5700 Loch Raven Boulevard in Baltimore. 


As part of the event we’ll be we’ll be displaying our newly wrapped police D.A.R.E. vehicle along with wrapped vehicles from other public safety agencies. Our vehicle design was created by the Boys and Girls Club of Freetown Village in a contest organized by Multi-Media Journalist Pete O’Neil, the founder of the Kindertime Toy Drive.  The vehicle wrap was graciously donated by Eldersburg based Shannon-Baum Signs.


Eastern District


Citizen Robbery                                                                                            Glen Burnie


On December 20, 2017 at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Snow Cap Court in Glen Burnie for a citizen robbery. The adult female victim stated the suspect approached her, displayed a knife, and demanded money. The victim complied and suspect then fled the scene on foot. Several officers, including a police canine responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Commercial Robbery (UPDATE)                                                               Pasadena


On October 30, 2017 at 9:28 p.m., officers responded for a commercial robbery at the Bay Area Market located at 8039 Ft. Smallwood Road in Pasadena. A store employee stated the suspects entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee complied and the suspects fled from the store. Officers searched the area however were unable to locate the suspects.  No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

            During this investigation robbery detectives were able to identify Anthony Terranova as one of the suspects involved in this robbery. On December 20, 2017, detectives located Terranova in the Brooklyn Park area and he was arrested. During the arrest, Terranova was found to be in possession of a starter pistol.  He was arrested and charged with the October 20th robbery of the Bay Area Market.


Western District


Attempted Commercial Robbery                                                                            Laurel


On December 20, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers responded to A-1 Pawnbrokers located at 12623 Laurel Ft. Meade Road in Laurel for an attempted robbery. Store employees stated the suspects entered the business, pepper sprayed two employees, and began to smash a glass display case. A third employee who was in the rear of the store, observed what was occurring and confronted the suspects and fired his handgun in their direction. The suspects then fled the store without taking any merchandise. Several officers, including a police canine responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects.


There is no indication the suspects were injured. Investigation showed that the store employee had a valid permit to carry a handgun. Detectives are investigating this incident, updates will be provided as they become available.
