Eastern District
Attempt Robbery (Commercial) - Severna Park

On September 10, 2022, at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded for a hold-up alarm at the 7-Eleven at 497 Jumpers Hole Road in Severna Park. Upon arrival, the victim reported that the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the safe. Upon being told no, the suspect began making his exit from the store, taking a bag of candy as he left.  The victim advised the suspect had his hand in his pocket, and they believed he may be armed; however, no weapon was displayed or seen. The victim described the suspect as a black male, short, heavy set, wearing a red and green hooded sweatshirt.

Prior to officers responding for the hold-up alarm, officers were alerted to an abandoned vehicle at Severna Park Middle School at 450 Jumpers Hole Road in Severna Park. Upon their arrival, officers found the vehicle unoccupied, the front and rear driver’s side doors open, the front driver’s door window smashed, and the front passenger tire was flat. During their investigation, officers learned that the vehicle was wanted in connection to an aggravated assault in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The owner/operator of the vehicle matched the description of the suspect from 7-Eleven.

Approximately two hours after the attempted robbery, at 6:15 a.m., officers were dispatched for a report of a suspicious subject in the area of Holly Road and Riverside Drive in Severna Park. Officers converged on the area and began looking for the subject. At approximately 7:00 a.m., police communications received a call for a burglary that just occurred. The victim advised that a black male wearing a black ski mask with a red, yellow, and green shirt entered his house through an open garage door and attempted to obtain keys to a vehicle. When confronted by the homeowner, the suspect ran through the house, exiting through the garage. The homeowner pursued the suspect out onto the driveway, where the suspect claimed that his vehicle broke down and was looking for help. The suspect left the residence on foot. At approximately 7:15 a.m., officers located the suspect and, after a brief foot pursuit, were able to take him into custody without further incident. Based on information obtained during the investigation, the suspect was determined to be the same individual from the 7-Eleven, the abandoned vehicle, the suspicious subject, and the burglary. During his arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a black semiautomatic handgun. The suspect was charged accordingly.

Armed Robbery (Citizen) - Glen Burnie

On September 10, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that just occurred in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The victim told officers that as they were parking, they noticed a black male wearing a blue hat and a white t-shirt who appeared to be approaching people, asking them for money. Once parked, a different black male approached the victim's vehicle on the passenger side and told the victim to give him his wallet. When the victim said no, the suspect began opening the passenger door and pulled a black handgun out of his waistband. As this was happening, the black male whom the victim had initially observed approached the victim's vehicle on the driver's side, opened the door and used some type of electronic conduction weapon (stun gun) on the victim. The victim handed his wallet to the suspect, that displayed the gun. Both suspects entered a blue sedan that was parked beside the victim. The victim described the driver of that blue sedan as a white female with dark hair who was wearing glasses. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident.
