On September 30, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery/shooting at Champion Liquors located at 7385 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers learned that a suspect entered the store and demanded money from the two clerks. The clerks recognized the suspect as a known customer and refused to give him money. The suspect stayed in the business approximately ten more minutes before pulling out a gun and ushering the employees to the office. The suspect then struck one employee with the gun and demanded cash again. The employees showed the suspect where the cash was kept. The suspect proceeded to shoot one employee in the lower extremity and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of US Currency. That victim is currently in an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Robbery Unit Detectives initiated their investigation and have worked through the night. Vosahwn Argen Sample (DOB 10-29-1974, no fixed address) was identified as the suspect through investigative means. Mr. Sample has an active arrest warrant charging him with the shooting/armed robbery, and detectives are asking for assistance in locating him.

Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Squad

On July 6, 2021, the Anne Arundel County Police and the Department of Social Services were notified in reference to a possible sex offense involving a schoolteacher at Annapolis High School and a student. Notification was made to the Board of Education, and the teacher was banned from returning to Annapolis High School while the investigation occurred. 

The victim, who is a 17-year-old-male and now resides out of state, was interviewed on July 29, 2021. During the interview, the victim disclosed inappropriate sexual contact with the suspect when he attended Annapolis High School. 

The Anne Arundel County Police Department's Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Squad and members from the Department of Social Services coordinated additional interviews of the suspect and other potential witnesses.    

Upon the conclusion of this investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Jennifer Arnold, the suspect, with the sex abuse of a minor, 3rd-degree sex offense, and 4th-degree sex offense involving a person in the position of authority. On 10/01/2021, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

At this time, it is not believed any of the sexual encounters occurred at the school.

Northern District 
Serious Injury Crash/ Brooklyn Park

On September 30, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Audrey Avenue and Kramme Avenue for a reported crash.

The investigation revealed that a 2020 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Audrey Avenue when an SSR Motorsport dirt bike traveling northbound on Kramme Avenue ran the stop sign and struck the Toyota. The rider of the dirt bike was thrown from the dirt bike.

The rider of the dirt bike was transported by ground to an area trauma center by Anne Arundel County Fire Department paramedics with life-threatening injuries.

Preliminarily, the primary cause of this crash is the rider of the dirt bike failing to stop at a stop sign. The crash is currently under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section, and anyone with any information is asked to call the TipLine at 410-222-4700.
