Northern District
Commercial Robbery Glen Burnie
On July 6, 2018 at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a commercial robbery at the LaQuinta Inn located at 6323 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie. The front desk employee stated the suspect enter the hotel lobby, approached the front desk, and demanded money. The employee complied and the suspect fled on foot. No weapon was displayed or implied. Numerous officers including police canine responded to canvass the area but the suspect was not located. There were no injuries.
Suspect: Black male, approximately 35-40 years old, dark colored clothing
Commercial Robbery Glen Burnie
On July 5, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a commercial robbery at 5th Avenue Liquors located at 508 Crain Highway in Glen Burnie. A store clerk stated the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk complied and the suspect fled the store in an unknown direction. Numerous officers including police canine responded to canvass the area but the suspect was not located. There were no injuries.
Suspect: Black male, approximately 6’, wearing dark colored clothing
Western District
Serious Injury Crash Gambrills
On July 6, 2018 at approximately 07:20 a.m. officers responded to a single vehicle crash on northbound Crain Highway near Route 32. Preliminary investigation showed that a Chevy Tahoe was traveling north on Crain Highway when for an unknown reason veered onto the shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree. The operator had serious injuries and was transported to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he is currently listed in stable condition.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a contributing factor. The Traffic Safety Section is investigating.
