Commercial Robbery - Laurel
On December 27, 2021, at approximately 1:40 p.m. officers responded for a robbery at the A-1 Pawn Brokers located at 3470 Laurel Fort Meade Road in Laurel. Two suspects entered the store, displayed handguns, removed property, and fled. Robbery Unit detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-4720. First Degree Assault - Laurel
On December 28, 2021, at approximately 1:35 a.m. officers responded to the 3400 block of Andrew Court in Laurel for an assault. A 24-year-old female had an argument with a male acquaintance which escalated. The male assaulted the female and then stabbed her with a knife. The male then fled. Officers rendered medical aid to the victim who was then transported to laurel Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injury to an extremity. Detectives are working to locate the male. Criminal charges are pending.
First Degree Assault - Lothian
On December 27, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m. officers responded to the Adventure Bound Campground located at 5381 Sands Road in Lothian for a report of an assault. A 54-year-old male victim told officers he was engaged in a dispute over a parking space with a neighboring trailer occupant. The dispute escalated and one subject punched the victim in the face. Both parties then retreated to their respective trailers. Later, the victim and a 59-year-old female got out of their trailer and observed the suspect pointing a handgun toward them. The victims went back into the trailer and called the police. Officers seized a 9mm Springfield Armory XD handgun from the suspect who was arrested and charged accordingly.
