Pasadena, MD (May 10, 2018) - The Pasadena Senior Activity Center hosted an Open House on Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018. The center, located at 4103 Mountain Road in Pasadena, is one of 7 senior activity centers in Anne Arundel County within the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
All members of the public were welcome to enjoy a variety of art exhibits, fitness demonstrations, light refreshments and entertainment from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Open House is beneficial to the members, their families and the public to discover the programs, services, and extra-curricular activities offered by the county's senior activity centers. The month of May is Older Americans Month and the Open House is one of the many activities planned from the Department of Aging and Disabilities to celebrate the month.
County Executive Steve Schuh was in attendance and thanked the center's volunteers and staff for continuing to provide the community's older adults with a place to learn, be creative, and be social. He stated, "I am grateful for the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to create a safe and meaningful experience. Having dynamic senior activity centers in our county is vital to the quality of life of our community's older adults."
Pamela Jordan, Director of the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, stated, "Our senior activity centers are important for our older adults and are intended to enrich the lives of active, older adults in the county. We do this by offering an abundant list of classes and activities throughout the year."
