National Preparedness Month

GLEN BURNIE, MD – September is National Preparedness Month. This is a nationwide, month-long effort, hosted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency Ready Campaign encouraging households, communities, and businesses to prepare and plan for emergencies. Ready.gov has weekly emergency preparedness themes focused on the 2018 slogan “Disasters Happen. Prepare Now. Learn How” to help your family and community prepare:

  • August 26-31 – Kickoff to National Preparedness Month
  • September 1-8 – Make and Practice Your Plan
  • September 9-15 – Learn Life Saving Skills
  • September 16-22 – Check Your Insurance Coverage
  • September 23-29 – Save For an Emergency

 

As part of National Preparedness Month, the Office of Emergency Management is hosting the Anne Arundel County Emergency Preparedness Expo on September 22, 2018 from 10 a.m. to

2 p.m. at Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie. With over 45 exhibits and live demonstrations, this is a free, fun, and family-friendly way for people of all ages to learn more about emergency preparedness.
