Unidentified Female - Baltimore

On July 27, 2005, at approximately 2:57 p.m., officers responded to the wooded area off Cross Street near Wasena Avenue in Baltimore where two juveniles had located human remains while playing in the area.  The scene was secured and homicide detectives responded to investigate.  The recovered remains were identified as a nineteen to twenty-three year old white female, approximately 5’05 to 5’08 tall with dark reddish or brown curly hair.  To date, the female still remains unidentified and The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been unable to provide an exact cause and manner of death.

The Anne Arundel County Police has not given up hope on positively identifying this female and hopes to provide some closure to her surviving family members.  The Anne Arundel County Police Cold Case Unit recently sought the services of Parabon Nano Labs to assist with this investigation.  Parabon Labs utilized “Snapshot”, a forensic DNA analysis tool, in an effort to predict the physical appearance and ancestry of the unknown female.  The Anne Arundel County Police are hoping the public will view the attached informational flyer and assist in positively identifying the recovered remains.

The Anne Arundel County Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling the Homicide Unit at 410-222-4731.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may contact the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line 410-222-4700 or Metro Crime Stoppers.
