Historic Beach Resorts Outdoor Interpretive Sign Dedication

Annapolis, Maryland (April 21, 2017) – The Office of Planning and Zoning’s Cultural Resources Division in cooperation with the Department of Recreation and Parks will dedicate two outdoor interpretive signs to be installed at Mayo Beach Park and Beverly Triton Beach Park.

The signs share the origin and history of notable 19th and 20th century Chesapeake Bay beach resorts in Anne Arundel County, specifically the Beverly Beach Club and Triton Beach, and the social issues they faced during that time.

Creation of the signs is possible through grants provided by the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority and Anne Arundel County Trust for Preservation.
