Healthy Anne Arundel Coalition Sponsors Second Healthy Anne Arundel Month Celebrations
The Healthy Anne Arundel Coalition is observing the Second Annual Healthy Anne Arundel Month (April 2015) with special celebrations that highlight County wellness programs and encourage residents to improve their physical and mental health.
On Saturday, April 11, from 7 a.m. to noon, there will be exhibits with free health information, giveaways and games at the Anne Arundel County Farmers’ Market, Riva Road and Harry S. Truman Parkway, in Annapolis.
Also on April 11, at Pathways, 2620 Riva Road, Annapolis, there will be exhibit tables with health information from 9 a.m. to noon. At 9:30 a.m., there will be a salute to Healthy Anne Arundel Month with a County Proclamation, Annapolis Mayor Michael Pantelides’ Citation, and remarks from County Health Officer Dr. Jinlene Chan and representatives from Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) and the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (BWMC). At 10 a.m., the County Mental Health Agency will present “De-escalation Strategies for Crisis Situations,” and the County Department of Health will provide opioid overdose response training. On Saturday, April 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a Healthy Anne Arundel
display and free health screenings at the Arts in the Park Festival, Chesapeake Arts Center, 194 Hammonds Lane in Brooklyn Park. The screenings will be provided by AAMC, BWMC and MedStar Harbor Hospital.
