Fire Media Release September 6, 2018

Dwelling Fire- Brooklyn Park 

On September 5th at 12:05 p.m. firefighters were alerted to a reported dwelling fire in the 500 block of Church Street. Firefighters arrived to find smoke evident from the one-story single family dwelling. Further investigation found fire from the windows in the rear of the home. Anne Arundel County firefighters assisted by firefighters from Baltimore City quickly made access and extinguished a fire in the kitchen and an addition at the rear of the home.

A 41-year-old female who was home at the time of the fire sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to the adult Burn Center at John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. As a result of the fire four adults and three children have been displaced and assisted by the Red Cross. Investigators from the Anne Arundel County Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit have determined that the fire was accidental, originating in the kitchen. Damages are estimated at $150,000. There were no other injuries.
