DPW Begins Water Access Capital Project at Homeport Farms Park

Annapolis, Maryland (September 7, 2017) – Contractors for the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works will begin work this month on a new canoe/kayak launch facility at Homeport Farm Park in Edgewater.   Construction of the canoe/kayak launch facility is expected to be completed by February 2018.

Work at Homeport Farms Park is part of a multi-year project to provide or enhance water access opportunities within existing County parks that have frontage on the Chesapeake Bay or its major tributaries.  Upgrades will include, but not be limited to: entrance roads, parking, pathways, pier and wharf improvements, floating piers, shoreline stabilization, launch areas stabilization, split rail fencing, landscaping and signage.  Projects were determined though consultation with the Water Access Committee.
