Solicitation of a Minor  - Odenton

On February 6th, 2018 a concerned parent notified the Anne Arundel County Police Department of a possible solicitation of a minor.  The mother stated she found her juvenile daughter had been communicating with an adult male via the Facebook Messenger Application.  Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Child Abuse Unit began an investigation into the person communicating with the juvenile female.

During the investigation a detective working in a covert capacity assumed the identity of a juvenile female.  The adult male began communicating with who he believed was the juvenile female in which he solicited sexual acts in exchange for money.  On Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 the adult male arranged to meet the juvenile female.  At approximately 9:00 p.m., the adult male suspect arrived on location at a fast food restaurant located in the 1100 block of Annapolis Road, Odenton, Maryland.  Child Abuse Detectives were on location and took the suspect into custody without incident.

Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Child Abuse Unit participate with the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
