Homicide (Update) -  Glen Burnie

On Tuesday, March 29, 2017 at approximately 12:26 a.m., officers responded to Medstar Harbor Hospital located at 3001 South Hanover Street in Baltimore for an injured subject.  The injured person was identified as Aaron Jamal Skipwith, a twenty-six year old male from the 200 block of Bethel Street in Baltimore. It was learned that Mr. Skipwith had been driven to the hospital by associates with life threatening injuries he received during an altercation at a bar in Anne Arundel County.   While being treated at the hospital, Mr. Skipwith succumbed to his injuries.  

Anne Arundel County Homicide Detectives were called and began their investigation.  Detectives determined that Mr. Skipwith had been at the Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill located in the 100 block of Chesapeake Center Court in Glen Burnie earlier that night.  Upon leaving the bar, an altercation occurred near the parking lot during which Mr. Skipwith received trauma to the upper body.  Associates of the Mr. Skipwith then transported him to the hospital.

Mr. Skipwith’s remains have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner located in Baltimore Maryland where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of his death.

Update

On March 29, 2017 an autopsy was performed on the victim. The examination revealed sharp object injuries as the cause of death. The investigation continues and detectives are still working to establish suspect and motive. Citizen Robbery                                                                                            Glen Burnie

 

On March 29, 2017 at 9:08 p.m. officers responded for a robbery near the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Phelps Road in Glen Burnie. The adult male victim told officers that while he was walking along the roadway, he was approached by five males.  One of the males pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded property.  The victim turned over his cell phone and cash and the suspects fled from the area.  Officers searched the area however were unable to locate any suspects.

 

Suspects: five males, black, all wearing dark clothing, all 17 – 19 years old, all medium build

Stabbing Arrest                                                                                             Edgewater

 

On March 29, 2017 at 5:51 p.m., officers responded for a report of a stabbing at the 300 block of Elm Street in Edgewater.  Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated that a male and female had driven onto his property in violation of conspicuously posted “no trespassing” signs.  The victim confronted the couple, at which time the intoxicated male suspect stabbed the victim in the hand and face.  The victim was transported to PG Trauma for non-life threatening injuries. The male suspect was arrested and charged with 1st degree assault.
