Annapolis, MD (March 2, 2016) – County Executive Steve Schuh, along with Comptroller Peter Franchot and other county officials, today participated in Eastport Library’s “Read Across America” event honoring the life and works of Dr. Seuss.

“Getting our young children excited about reading helps build a solid foundation for their education,” said Schuh. “”Read Across America’ is fantastic program that teaches our students to love to read.”

Surrounded by students from Mills Parole Elementary in Annapolis, the County Executive read “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin, a scrumptious New York Times bestseller that has, according to reviews, a whole lot of kick!

“Read Across America” is a reading initiative created to motivate children in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.
