County Executive Steve Schuh Expresses Support for MGT Study Calls effort “crucial blueprint” for schools
Annapolis, MD (September 3, 2015) – County Executive Steve Schuh this afternoon continued to express his support for the updated school facilities study presented to the Board of Education yesterday, and applauded its recommendations.
“The MGT Study is a crucial blueprint for school construction in our county,” said Schuh. “The study takes politics out of the process, and is an example of what can happen when all sides come together to build a better future for our children.
“Under George Arlotto’s transformational leadership, the process for determining school construction needs in our county has become a model for our state. I am hopeful all parties will use the MGT Study and the Superintendent’s proposed capital budget as a guide moving forward. ”
The MGT Study was a collaborative effort between the County Executive, County Council, Dr. Arlotto, and the Board of Education. The six-month effort involved data-driven, prescriptive analysis of all school system facilities. Analysis of the data determined the school priority list, and subsequent proposed school construction capital budget.
The County Executive supports the priority list set forth by MGT and Dr. Arlotto.
