County Conducts Winter Exercise

Glen Burnie, MD (December 16, 2016) – The Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management hosted a winter tabletop exercise today at the emergency operations center, with the American Red Cross graciously sponsoring light refreshments. This exercise provided participants with an opportunity to discuss capabilities, plans, and procedures during a winter event. The exercise focused on communications, operational coordination, vulnerable populations, critical facilities, resource management, and other functions related to blizzard conditions. 

The exercise offered a whole community approach by including participants from Anne Arundel County Office of  the County Executive, Office of Constituent Services, Department of Public Works, Department of Social Services, Department of Health, Sheriff’s Office, Animal Control, Department of Aging and Disabilities, Recreation and Parks, Office of Central Services, Animal Control, Office of Law, Office of Emergency Management, Fire Department, Office of Planning & Zoning, Police Department, Office of Information Technology, Inspections and Permits, American Red Cross, and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (RACES).
