Commercial Armed Robbery in Laurel, MD. and Sex Offense in Gambrills, MD.

Commercial Armed Robbery                                                                         Laurel

            On December 9, 2015 at approximately 8:23 pm, officers responded to the Family Dollar, located at 3459 Laurel Fort Meade Road, Laurel, in reference to a commercial armed robbery.  Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store employee that stated an unidentified male subject entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded money.

            The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of US currency.  Numerous units, to include aviation and canine, canvassed the area with negative results.  The store employee was not injured.

Suspect- black male, mid 20’s, 5’7, skinny, black clothing, armed with an unknown make/caliber handgun.

Sex Offense                                                                                                   Gambrills

On December 7, 2015 at approximately 5:31 pm, officers responded to the Safeway located at 2644 Chapel Lake Drive, Gambrills, in reference to a sex offense.  Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim (43yr old female from Gambrills).  She advised that while shopping in the store, a male subject approached her with his cell phone.  The subject reached under her skirt with the cell phone in hand, and appeared to take pictures with the cell phone.  The suspect was detained as he was leaving the scene.

            The suspect was identified by responding officers, and his cell phone was seized as evidence.  After conferring with the State’s Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against the suspect via the District Court Commissioner’s Office.  The suspect was issued a summons for Peeping Tom/Prurient Intent.  The victim was not injured during this incident.

Suspect- David, Richard Oakley white male, 36 years old from Crofton
