Arundel TV to Screen “100 Years of Fort George G. Meade” on Veteran’s Day
Event is free and open to the public
Annapolis, MD (November 1, 2017) – Anne Arundel County will host a special premiere of the historic documentary “100 Years of Fort George G. Meade” on Friday, November 10, at Live! Casino & Hotel.
“We are proud to pay tribute to the millions of military personnel who have served at Fort Meade with this special documentary presentation,” said County Executive Steve Schuh. “This film is full of so much information about the post that has become such a critical asset to Anne Arundel County, our nation, and the world.”
The 30-minute documentary covers major milestones as well as the special units and people who have made tremendous contributions to history right here in our backyard. The documentary will also feature local historians and images rarely seen. The event is free and open to the public.
"Fort Meade is a part of this community, and we have a shared story,” said Fort Meade Garrison Commander Col. Thomas S. Rickard. “We appreciate the County took the time to document that story. Anne Arundel County has been a great partner with Fort Meade, and we are excited to see this presentation celebrating our centennial.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. at Live! Center Stage, located on the casino floor at Live! Casino & Hotel. The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a question and answer session with the historians and experts featured in the film. The event is sponsored by Anne Arundel County, Live! and the Anne Arundel County Library.
