Anne Arundel County Police Press Release 12/18/2017

Northern District

 

Commercial Robbery                                                                                   Glen Burnie

                       

On December 17, 2017 at approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the Shell/Dash Inn located at 6616 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie for a robbery. The store employee stated the suspect entered the business, produced a small baseball bat, and demanded cash.  The employee complied and the suspect fled the business.  Several officers, including a police canine responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

 

Suspect:

 

1)      White male, 20-30 years old, approximately 6’0”

 

 

Commercial Robbery                                                                                   Glen Burnie

                       

On December 17, 2017 at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the Rite Aid located at 7967 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Glen Burnie for a robbery. The store employee stated the suspects entered the business, one suspect implied he had a gun, and demanded cash.  The employee complied and the suspects fled the business.  Several officers, including a police canine responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

 

Suspects:

 

1)      White male, blonde hair, wearing dark coat and scarf, light colored pants (implied gun)

2)      Black male, medium build, back hat, dark jacket, light colored pants

Commercial Robbery                                                                                   Glen Burnie

                       

On December 16, 2017 at approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded to the Royal Farms located at 200 Oakwood Road in Glen Burnie for a robbery. The store employee stated the suspect entered the business, walked around the counter, and took the cash drawer from the register and several packs of Newport cigarettes. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect did not display nor imply a weapon. Several officers, including a police canine responded and canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

 

Suspect:

 

1)      White male, approximately 30 years old, blonde hair, wearing green jacket

 

Eastern District

 

Fatal Accident (UPDATE)                                                                           Pasadena

 

On December 17, 2017 at approximately 4:47 a.m., officers responded to Ft. Smallwood Road near Devere Drive in Pasadena for a single vehicle crash. Preliminary investigation showed a Ford Focus was traveling north bound on Ft. Smallwood Road at a high rate of speed.  As the vehicle rounded a curve on approach to Devere Drive, the operator lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle left the roadway striking a group of trees causing the vehicle to roll.  Subsequently the front seat passenger was ejected from the vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.  The driver and two other passengers were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

 

Speed and alcohol may be a factor in this case. The Traffic Safety Section is handling the investigation.
