Anne Arundel County Honors the Fallen During September 11th Memorial Ceremony
Annapolis, MD (September 11, 2015) – County Executive Steve Schuh and other county officials this morning honored fallen police officers, firefighters and other emergency service personnel during a wreath laying at Anne Arundel County’s September 11th Memorial in Millersville.
“In the midst of a day marred by acts of cowardly terrorism, our country observed the bravery and unparalleled valor of dedicated public safety professionals,” said Schuh. “Firefighters, police, and first responders ran into the towers and towards the Pentagon with many never making it out. And it is in their memory that we gather here this morning.”
Joining the County Executive were Anne Arundel County Police Chief Tim Altomare, Fire Chief Allen Graves, and State’s Attorney Wes Adams.
The Anne Arundel County September 11th Memorial was dedicated in 2010. It provides a place of reflection to pay respect to the victims of 9/11 terror attacks, and is dedicated to all public safety personnel who responded that day and who continue to respond to the needs of Anne Arundel County.
