Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities & Anne Arundel Medical Center To Offer Free Diabetes Workshops
Annapolis, MD (March 10, 2016) – The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities and the Anne Arundel Medical Center will be partnering to present free Diabetes workshops next month. The workshops will be held in the Belcher Pavilion at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
The “Living Well With Diabetes” workshop is appropriate for participants with Pre-Diabetes, or Type 2 Diabetes. This program teaches participants how to manage their blood sugar levels, count carbohydrates and provides information about reading nutrition labels. It also teaches the participants about appropriate exercise and assists in managing symptoms associated with both high and low blood sugar levels.
Over the course of 6 weeks, participants come once a week for 2.5 hours. Classes are interactive and educational. Both morning and evening classes are available. The morning classes are held from 9:30 a.m. to noon starting Monday, April 4at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. The evening session starts Thursday, May 19, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Workshop space is limited.
