Anne Arundel County Celebrates Drinking Water Week

Awareness Week to Promote the Importance of Public Drinking Water in Our Daily Lives

Annapolis (May 8, 2016) – County Executive Steve Schuh signed an Executive Proclamation declaring May 7-13, 2017 as Drinking Water Week in Anne Arundel County.  Throughout the week, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will be promoting the public drinking water theme, “Know it. Love it!” by recognizing the vital role that our public drinking water plays in our daily lives.

DPW staff will place Drinking Water Week awareness banners at the Anne Arundel County Government Complex on Riva Road in Annapolis and the Bureau of Utility Operations Headquarters on East-West Boulevard in Millersville.  Staff will also promote public drinking water each day and post information to the DPW Facebook page and Twitter site.  A video tour of one of the County’s water treatment facilities will also air during the week on the County’s Public Education and Government Channel to detail the complex water production, treatment, and distribution process.
