Anne Arundel County Budget Office Wins Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

Annapolis, MD (December 18, 2015) – County Executive Steve Schuh today announced that the Anne Arundel County Budget Office has been awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the FY 2016 budget.

“We are blessed to have a budget team in Anne Arundel County that works every day to ensure our county is the best place to live, work and start a business in Maryland,” said Schuh. “The dedication to detail demonstrated by Budget Officer John Hammond and his team is setting an example for the nation.”

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  In order to receive the budget award, the entity had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for an effective budget presentation.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the GFOA for our budget presentation,” said Budget Officer John Hammond.  “I would like to sincerely thank the entire budget team as this award would not be possible without their hard work and dedication."

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
