Annapolis, MD (March 29, 2017) - The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities and the Anne Arundel Medical Center will be partnering to present free Diabetes workshops next month. The workshops will be held in the Belcher Pavilion at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.
The "Living Well With Diabetes" workshop is appropriate for participants with Pre-Diabetes, or Type 2 Diabetes. This program teaches participants how to manage their blood sugar levels, count carbohydrates and provides information about reading nutrition labels. It also teaches the participants about appropriate exercise and assists in managing symptoms associated with both high and low blood sugar levels.
Over the course of 6 weeks, participants come once a week for 2.5 hours. Classes are interactive and educational. Both morning and evening classes are available. The morning classes are held from 9:30 a.m. to noon starting Tuesday, April 4 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. The evening session starts Tuesday, April 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Workshop space is limited.
