      Join Anne Arundel Bird Club Members Sue and Alan Young on a bird walk around the park. See how many resident and migrant birds you can spot! Participants should bring good walking shoes and binoculars (not required, but helpful!) Park admission fee is waived for participants. Upon arrival, inform the gate attendant that you are with the Anne Arundel Bird Club.

    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    • Ethics Commission Contingent Meeting (only if called) Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Locations: 2666 Riva Road Annapolis, MD 21401 Details:

      The Ethics Commission is regularly scheduled to meet on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in the commission’s office, unless rescheduled by the commission.  The commission will also have a contingent meeting scheduled for the third Monday of each month. The open portion of the meeting is usually quite brief, about 5-15 minutes.  Visitors are welcome to attend the open portion of the meeting.  If a person would like to bring a matter to the commission's attention or otherwise be heard during either the open or closed portion of the meeting, that person must notify the commission at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, providing that person's name and contact information. The commission has the discretion to permit a person to address the commission during a meeting, and may limit the time for the remarks of any speaker. The commission will not respond to questions or comments during a meeting, but upon request, will respond in writing to any speaker within a reasonable time after the meeting.

    • Winter Solstice Hike Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Locations: Fort Smallwood Park Details:

      Bundle up and join us at the Cedar Pavilion to celebrate the return of light as we take a twilight winter solstice walk. We will talk about winter foliage, where animals burrow, and more. We will conclude with a warm cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa with Park Ranger Felipa Fontes. We will provide some winter book recommendations for all ages.
