    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

      A public meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Brooklyn Park
      Library, 1 E. 11th Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21225.
       
       
      During the meeting, DPW will discuss a planning study to address mobility challenges through improved
      transportation infrastructure and services in and adjacent to the Brooklyn Park neighborhood. The primary
      objective is to identify and prioritize planning-level transportation system improvements that address community
      mobility needs for residents and stakeholders to reach key services, focusing primarily on walking, bicycling, and
      transit service. The final product will be a community mobility plan that will include maps, concept drawings,
      and planning-level cost estimates. The recommended alternatives will incorporate input from local residents,
      property owners, workers, and other key stakeholders.

    • FREE Guided Tour: Discover Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Time: 1:00pm - 1:45pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details:

      Join a Jug Bay Naturalist the first Friday of every month for a free guided tour of the wetland boardwalk to discover the wonderful and unique plants and animals found here at the Sanctuary! Tour is approximately 45 minutes and is free with the $6 per vehicle entrance fee. No registration required.

      Meet outside the Jug Bay Visitor Center promptly at 1pm.

    • Bird Walk Time: 7:00am - 10:00am Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details:

      Join an avid Jug Bay birder to learn skills for identifying birds by sight and sound. Novice and experienced birders are welcome on this 2-3 mile walk to explore the forests and wetlands in search of the 250+ species of birds that call Jug Bay home, or migrate through. Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a spotting scope and binoculars if you have them. Ages 12 and older. Free with $6 per vehicle park entrance fee. Gate opens at 6:45 am for a 7 am prompt start time.

    • Infant and Toddler Sensory Hike Time: 9:30am - 10:30am Locations: South River Farm Park Details:

      This hike is designed with little ones in mind. Research has shown that kids who play outside are calmer, happier, and more imaginative. What better time to introduce them to nature than in these young formative years. Please be prepared to let your little ones get wet and dirty. Older children are welcome when accompanying an infant or toddler!

    • Jingle Bell Hayride Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Enjoy a festive hayride, snacks, warm drinks, roast marshmallows, and 
      visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the decorated Kinder Farmhouse. Admission is $10 plus a $1.50 processing fee. Children 3 and under are Free but may be asked to ride on accompanying adult’s lap. All Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Participants must preregister online at www.kinderfarmpark.org by Nov. 30, 2022, or until all hayrides are sold-out. Rides are scheduled every half-hour from 10:00 AM to Noon.
