    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    • Electrical Board Meeting Time: 8:30am - 10:30am Locations: 2664 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD. Details: The Board of Electrical Examiners hears complaints with reference to violations of Title 11, Article 4, of the Anne Arundel County Code and advises the Director of Inspection and Permits of its findings and recommendations. They also advise on the issuance of electrician licenses.
       
       
    • AARP Smart Drivers Course Time: 9:00am - 2:00pm Locations: Annapolis Senior Activity Center 119 S. Villa Ave., Annapolis Details: This one day course costs $15.00 for AARP members (bring card) and $20.00 for non-members. Sign up begins 11/1/19. Make checks payable to AARP.
       
       
    • Taxi Voucher Program Time: 10:00am - 11:00am Locations: Annapolis Senior Activity Center 119 S. Villa Ave., Annapolis Details: An employee from the Department of Aging will be present to help those who need assistance in filling out the taxi voucher application. Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities Taxi Voucher Program offers discounted taxi vouchers to support taxi fares with participating cab companies in Anne Arundel County. In order to qualify, one must be an Anne Arundel County resident, 65 years of age or older or 18 years of age or older with a disability. Each book costs $5.00 and is worth a value of $10.00. Limitations may apply.

    • Sawmill Workshop Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Weather permitting, Kinder Farm Park's very own Sawmill Club will be running logs through the mill. Wood milled from the sawmill can be seen around Kinder Farm park, including inside the Tobacco Barn Museum and Visitor Center.

      Antique Equipment and Sawmill Club’s mission is the restoration and display of the park’s antique farm equipment, tractors and sawmill. Our goal is to offer presentations and displays of antique farm tools and equipment so that those participating can experience farm life in historical Anne Arundel County. The lumber from the sawmill is used in many of the small barns and other structures in the park.

We were pleased to have new members Joyce and Gary join us. It was good to add some male perspective to the discussion! At this months’ meeting, there will be an open discussion of books we’ve liked or disliked. December’s meeting will be a discussion of “Educated” by Tara Westover. This true story has been on the bestseller lists for several months. We hope to see you there.

Well now you can use them to make beautiful holiday pot holders! If there’s one thing a kitchen can never have enough of, it’s potholders. Join quilting instructor, Pauline Senk, as she teaches you how make this quick and fun project. Pattern will be provided; if you are bringing your own supplies, there is no charge.     • Weekly Rabies & Microchip Clinic Time: 12:00pm - 3:00pm Locations: 411 Maxwell Frye Road Millersville, MD 21108 Details:

      Low cost rabies vaccinations and microchip implantations are available every Thursday (except holidays) for a period of 3 hours at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control. Times are dependent on the season and we do have some clinics with special hours.  The veterinarian leaves promptly at the end time for the clinic. Depending on the length of the line, Animal Care & Control may conclude the line at an appropriate time to ensure all individuals remaining in line receive the services.  
        

      Please note clinics are weather permitting and may be canceled for high temperatures, low temperatures, precipitation, air quality or any other factors that may increase risks to citizens or animals at the outdoor clinic. 
        

      Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
