    • Estate Planning Workshop Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm Locations: Arnold Senior Activity Center 44 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012 Details: The topic of this seminar will be an overview of estate and disability planning and why it is important for you and your family. The presenter will discuss the various ways assets pass upon death, the difference between a Last Will and Testament and a Revocable Living Trust, and the importance of a Durable Financial Power of Attorney as well as a Health Care Power of Attorney and Living Will. The probate process in Maryland and estate planning pitfalls to avoid will be discussed. The presentation will be followed by a brief question and answer session. The presentation will be given on behalf of the Financial Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing trustworthy financial education to the Anne Arundel Community.

      The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is holding the last of the fall 2019 open houses for the Chesapeake Bay Crossing Study: Tier 1 NEPA (Bay Crossing Study).


      Open House attendees will learn about:

      • the environmental review process for the Bay Crossing Study,
      • the overall study schedule,
      • public comments received to date, and
      • the alternatives development, screening process and results.

      The same information exhibited at prior fall 2019 Bay Crossing Study Open Houses will be provided and staff will be available to answer questions. There will not be a formal presentation.       The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is leading the development of a new Regional Transit Plan for Central Maryland that will define public transportation goals over the next 25 years. MDOT MTA is collaborating with a broad range of partners, including a newly-formed Central Maryland Regional Transit Plan commission, local governments, transit providers, and area residents to develop a long-term vision for transit in Anne Arundel County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Harford County, and Howard County.  The Plan will address traditional transit (buses and trains) as well as explore new mobility options and technology to meet our region's transit needs.       A public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at
      Historic London Town & Gardens in the Visitor Center Orientation Room to present the
      proposed construction to expand the existing parking lot.

      Construction is expected to begin in
      late November 2019 and be complete in Spring 2020. Change to traffic patterns is not expected
      and road closure is not anticipated.

      DPW officials will present information on the proposed construction, and will also answer
      questions from those in attendance.

      Notice Regarding Rabies Clinics

      Rabies clinics at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control resumed beginning Thursday May 14, 2020. Effective Thursday June 11, 2020 Animal Care & Control will be resuming microchip implantations. The procedures have been modified to comply with social distancing, restrictions on gatherings and to ensure the health well being of citizens and Animal Care & Control team members/contractors as best we can. We have been adjusting the clinic each week to find the most effective and efficient ways of providing the services and we will continue to review in an attempt to improve the process. We continue to ask for your patience as we work out the kinks of this new process.

      Animal Care & Control will be pre-scheduling the services by appointment. Go to to request an appointment. We apologize but the number of citizens/animals serviced will be limited however we believe the number of appointments available is commensurate with the current need.

      A few things to note:
      • Clinic attendees MUST BE Anne Arundel County County Residents and are limited to bringing two (2) pets per appointment.
      • Attendees WILL NOT be allowed inside Animal Care & Control as the building is CLOSED to the public
      • Attendees MUST remain in their vehicle unless/until instructed otherwise by our team member
      • Attendees MUST be wearing a mask over their mouth & nose (even when 6 feet or greater from our team members)
      • All dogs MUST BE ON A 6 FOOT LEASH (attendees will be given instructions on how to transfer the animal to our team member while ensuring social distancing)
      • All cats MUST BE IN A CARRIER (attendees will be given instructions on how to transfer the animal to our team member while ensuring social distancing)
      • Attendees MUST remain at least 6 feet from our team members and MAY NOT linger outside their vehicle.
      • Animal Care & Control WILL NOT be offering these services (for the time being) for animals that require a muzzle or “do best” when handled by their owner for safety reasons. Please contact your regular full service veterinarian for assistance.
      • Attendees will be providing ALL necessary information regarding themselves, their animal and identifying information about their vehicle when the appointment is made.
      • Payment will be made OVER THE PHONE and proof of ID must be provided when we call to provide your appointment time. An AACACC team member will call you to obtain payment and provide your appointment time between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
      • If you are not here on the correct date and at the time of your appointment you will be rescheduled for another date/time
      • License renewals must be mailed in
      • Rabies Vaccination cost is $5.00.
      • Microchip Implantation is $20.00

      Low cost rabies vaccinations and microchip implantations are available on specific Thursdays (except holidays) for a period of 3 hours at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control. Times are dependent on the season and we do have some clinics with special hours.  The veterinarian leaves promptly at the end time for the clinic. Depending on the length of the line, Animal Care & Control may conclude the line at an appropriate time to ensure all individuals remaining in line receive the services.  

      Please note clinics are weather permitting and may be canceled for high temperatures, low temperatures, precipitation, air quality or any other factors that may increase risks to citizens or animals at the outdoor clinic. 

      Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.

Participants should be at the center by noon to register. Prizes will be awarded by our ghostly board.
    • Reflexology Appointments Time: 1:00pm - 1:30pm Locations: Arnold Senior Activity Center 44 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012 Details: Reflexology is the technique of manipulating reflex points that correspond to specific organs and body parts found within the feet and hands. Pressure applied to the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding areas of the body. Kim Murphy is a seasoned Reflexologist and Yoga Therapy trainer. She will be taking FREE, individual appointments for the last Thursday of each month, at 1:00 pm, in 15 minute increments. This is popular, so SIGN UP NOW!

    • STEM Day: Penguins and Robots and 3D Printing, Oh My! Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm Locations: Glen Burnie Library 1010 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060 Details: The Anne Arundel County Public Library will host its fourth annual STEM Day at the Glen Burnie Library featuring hands-on activities for all ages. Special programs include a meet and greet with an African penguin from the Maryland Zoo, mobile escape room, 3D printing demonstration, fire science presentation and much more.
