      The U.S. is required to perform a national count of all people living in each state every ten years. Census data is used to determine the level of federal funding for programs such as Medicaid and highway and transportation programs. Milton Rivera, Partnership Specialist with the U.S. Census Bureau, will be available to answer your questions on Monday, March 16th at 10:30. Come and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us with some Irish entertainment followed by catered Irish fare! Our entertainer will be Kaitlyn Likas (A.KA. The Wild Irish Rose), an award-winning fiddler and Irish/Scottish dancer. Then we’ll dine fine on a catered meal from O’Loughlins! We’ll start lunch off with scrumptious Reuben Egg Rolls made with crispy rye bread, corned beef, briny sauerkraut and creamy Thousand Island dressing, have our main meal of Shepherds Pie, a classic comfort food that's healthy, hearty and filling. The bottom layer is a mix of ground beef and vegetables in a delicious savory sauce. Then, it's topped with fluffy and creamy mashed potatoes that form a golden crust. And of course we’ll have green drinks and delicious desserts. Prize for the person dressed with the most St. Patty’s Day spirit!     • Ethics Commission Contingent Meeting (only if called) Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Locations: 2666 Riva Road Annapolis, MD 21401 Details:

      The Ethics Commission is regularly scheduled to meet on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in the commission’s office, unless rescheduled by the commission.  The commission will also have a contingent meeting scheduled for the third Monday of each month. The open portion of the meeting is usually quite brief, about 5-15 minutes.  Visitors are welcome to attend the open portion of the meeting.  If a person would like to bring a matter to the commission's attention or otherwise be heard during either the open or closed portion of the meeting, that person must notify the commission at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, providing that person's name and contact information. The commission has the discretion to permit a person to address the commission during a meeting, and may limit the time for the remarks of any speaker. The commission will not respond to questions or comments during a meeting, but upon request, will respond in writing to any speaker within a reasonable time after the meeting.

Learn about the history of the tea drink and the tradition of taking tea as an afternoon snack or evening meal. Learn about the differences between high tea, low tea, and afternoon tea. The similarities and differences between various popular tea types will be discussed in addition to an exploration of the history of classic tea treats such as the English Muffin, the crumpet, the scone, and clotted cream. This workshop teaches participants the self-management skills of action planning, problem solving and decision making. In addition, participants will learn about healthy eating, suggested modes of exercise, and how to manage stress levels.       The March 17, 2020, meeting will be hosted via Zoom.  Members of the Commission and anyone who would like to participate are welcomed to join the meeting via conferencing.   Because this is an Open Meeting and not everyone has access to technology, we will permit the general public to attend in person as long as the gathering does not exceed the accommodations of the space and our ability to safely conduct business.  The location of the meeting space has been changed to accommodate Zoom.  The meeting will take place at 2666 Riva Road, Ste. 130 Annapolis, MD 21401.  

       

      Due to the Coronavirus, we will practice distancing during the meeting e.g., we will keep a distance of at least 6 feet from person to person.  Because of the size of the conference room, we will restrict access to no more than 4 people.  All other persons are requested to participate via Zoom.

    • Sawmill Workshop(Cancelled) Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Weather permitting, Kinder Farm Park's very own Sawmill Club will be running logs through the mill. Wood milled from the sawmill can be seen around Kinder Farm park, including inside the Tobacco Barn Museum and Visitor Center.

      Antique Equipment and Sawmill Club’s mission is the restoration and display of the park’s antique farm equipment, tractors and sawmill. Our goal is to offer presentations and displays of antique farm tools and equipment so that those participating can experience farm life in historical Anne Arundel County. The lumber from the sawmill is used in many of the small barns and other structures in the park.

      Low cost rabies vaccinations and microchip implantations are available every Thursday (except holidays) for a period of 3 hours at Anne Arundel County Animal Care & Control. Times are dependent on the season and we do have some clinics with special hours.  The veterinarian leaves promptly at the end time for the clinic. Depending on the length of the line, Animal Care & Control may conclude the line at an appropriate time to ensure all individuals remaining in line receive the services.  
        

      Please note clinics are weather permitting and may be canceled for high temperatures, low temperatures, precipitation, air quality or any other factors that may increase risks to citizens or animals at the outdoor clinic. 
        

      Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
