Anne Arundel Bird Club Walk Time: 8:00am - 11:00am Locations: Quiet Waters Park Details: Join Anne Arundel Bird Club Members Sue and Alan Young on a bird walk around the park. See how many resident and migrant birds you can spot! Participants should bring good walking shoes and binoculars (not required, but helpful!) Park admission fee is waived for participants. Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Ethics Commission Contingent Meeting (only if called) Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm Locations: 2666 Riva Road Annapolis, MD 21401 Details:
The Ethics Commission is regularly scheduled to meet on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 4:00 p.m., in the commission’s office, unless rescheduled by the commission. The commission will also have a contingent meeting scheduled for the third Monday of each month. The open portion of the meeting is usually quite brief, about 5-15 minutes. Visitors are welcome to attend the open portion of the meeting. If a person would like to bring a matter to the commission's attention or otherwise be heard during either the open or closed portion of the meeting, that person must notify the commission at least 24 hours prior to the meeting, providing that person's name and contact information. The commission has the discretion to permit a person to address the commission during a meeting, and may limit the time for the remarks of any speaker. The commission will not respond to questions or comments during a meeting, but upon request, will respond in writing to any speaker within a reasonable time after the meeting.

Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary - Emory Waters Nature Preserve
Join staff and volunteers on Wednesdays 9 am - 12 noon at the Emory Waters Nature Preserve to work in our pollinator gardens. To beat the heat we will meet 8-11 am June 21-Sept 15. See Jug Bay’s newest property and learn about native perennials that support our native butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. Volunteers will weed, mulch, prune, and plant to revive, maintain, and build pollinator gardens. Meet new friends and enjoy interesting conversations. Bring gardening gloves, your favorite tools, and plenty of drinking water. Current health guidelines will be enforced. Ages: 12 and up, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Free. Walk-ins welcome! Join our Field Work Fridays at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. Every Friday rain or shine, volunteers join staff naturalists to tackle a stewardship project in need of support. Projects include invasive plant removals, trash clean-ups, gardening, citizen science monitoring, and more. Volunteers are welcome to bring a bagged lunch to enjoy after our work is completed. No prior training or experience is necessary to join our Field Work Fridays! Free. Ages 8 and up, minors must be accompanied by a guardian. Stream Water Chemistry Time: 9:30am - 12:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Join our Stream Water Chemistry volunteer team to conduct field tests on dissolved oxygen content, and other parameters, at important streams feeding Jug Bay. Water samples are also collected for lab analysis. This is a great way to learn how to use professional equipment, see the park, and become involved in habitat monitoring efforts. Free. Become a Vernal Pool Monitor Time: 10:00am - 2:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Join our volunteer team to survey our ten vernal pools throughout the 2022 season, beginning Feb 1 and ending May 30. Volunteers will receive an introduction to vernal pools, water quality monitoring, and our methods for sampling for animal life. Volunteers are expected to commit to visiting our pools once per month for 4-6 hours throughout the survey season which includes off-trail hiking. Registration and current health guidelines required.
