Our Police and Community Relations Council (PCRC) is hosting a shredding event on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. !! Come out to one of the locations listed below and help to prevent identity theft by safely shredding your personal documents in a commercial shredding truck. Further details are listed on the flier below.

Art @ the Park 2021 Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm Locations: Quiet Waters Park Details: Art @ the Park 2021 is the 31st annual arts festival located in the magnificent setting of Quiet Waters Park. Featuring original artwork from over 60+ exhibitors, both locally and throughout the country. It includes musical performances, art demonstrations, activities, and specialty food. Dogs are welcome at all outside venues, but are not allowed in the buildings. Gate fees apply.

Master Gardener Composting Demonstration Time: 10:00am - 11:00am Locations: Quiet Waters Park Details: The Anne Arundel County Master Gardeners invite you to attend this demonstration at Quiet Waters Park on the Wildwood Trail. Learn how to make compost in your backyard and receive a free compost bin courtesy of the Anne Arundel County Recycling office. Mysteries of the Marsh - Fall Foliage Canoe Time: 2:00pm - 6:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: The marsh is getting ready to go dormant for the year, but is not finished yet! We’ll look for late season flowers, migratory birds, beaver, otter, and other wildlife. Children must be at least 7 years old, and under 13 must be accompanied by two paddling adults. The child will sit in the middle of the canoe with adults paddling. Trips are 4 hours long and include: general orientation, basic paddling lesson, up to 0.5 mile walk to canoes/kayaks, launching canoes, and paddling. Paddlers can expect to actively paddle for 2 to 2.5 hours. The Patuxent River is a relatively slow-moving river, but paddlers must be able to propel the canoe or kayak through the water. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses, lunch/snack, and closed toed shoes that can get wet. $20 per person. Register at ActiveNet #26677.
