Details: The Board of Electrical Examiners hears complaints with reference to violations of Title 11, Article 4, of the Anne Arundel County Code and advises the Director of Inspection and Permits of its findings and recommendations. They also advise on the issuance of electrician licenses.

Time: 10:00am - 11:00am Locations: Pasadena Senior Activity Center 4103 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122 Details: Part of the Fresh Conversations series, learn about plant-based beverages made from soy, almond or coconuts labeled “milk”.     • Fall Prevention Seminar Time: 10:00am - 10:30am Locations: Arnold Senior Activity Center 44 Church Road Arnold, MD 21012 Details: Falls are the number one cause of injury and hospital visits due to trauma, and death from an injury among people age 65 and older are common. It is estimated that one in four older adults falls each year. Stephanie Lawler, of Visiting Angels, will be addressing the many different factors that contribute to falls, and the different recommendations for reducing fall risks.

    • Genealogy Club Time: 12:30pm - 2:00pm Locations: South County Senior Activity Center 27 Stepneys Lane Edgewater, MD 21037 Details: Where Do I Find Out About My Ancestor’s Military Service? The short answer is at branches of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), but how you get access to them can make a difference. Dr. Margaret McMahon, published researcher and experienced presenter at national conferences, will explain how to use military archives and resources online.

    • Physical Therapy 101 Time: 1:00pm - 1:30pm Locations: Pascal Senior Activity Center 125 Dorsey Road Glen Burnie, MD 21061 Details: Nicole, a Physical Therapist from NDGait Physical Therapy office will be here on Monday, October 7th at 1:00. She’ll be discussing the basics of Physical Therapy and answering all of the questions that you may have including, “how can PT help me,” “Is this covered by my insurance,” “ How long and how often do I need to come” and any other that you can think of! This is a free seminar, but seating is limited. Please registered with the front desk.

    • Bell Branch – Dog Park and Parking Lot Improvements Public Meeting Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm Locations: 2301 Davidsonville Rd, Gambrills, MD 21054 Details:

      A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at Crofton Middle School to present the proposed Bell Branch – Dog Park and Parking Lot Improvements. This meeting will address the plan to relocate the existing dog park to provide additional parking for users of the turf fields. The work is anticipated to begin in Spring 2020. Once the new parking area is constructed, traffic may be temporarily re-routed to connect entrances to the existing roadways. Road closure is not anticipated. 

      DPW officials will present information on the proposed construction, and will also answer questions from those in attendance.
