    • Tornado Relief Time: All Day Locations: Anne Arundel County Police Department Southern District, 35 Stepneys Ln, Edgewater, MD 21037 Details:

      A Family Assistance Center for County residents will be open from 2 pm until 6 pm today at the London Towne Community Hall at 170 Mayo Rd, Edgewater Maryland 21037.

       

      A Family Assistance Center for City residents will be open from 2 pm until 8 pm today and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, September 4 and Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Mount Olive Church at 2 Hicks Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401.  

       

      If you were affected by the serve weather event on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021, and need assistance, please stop by. A variety of services will be available both in-person and virtually including insurance and housing assistance.

      The meeting dates should be posted on the County's website to conform with the Maryland Open Meetings Act. 
       

      The meetings are currently being held virtually from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  Christine Anderson is Chairman of the Committee.

    • Field Work Fridays Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Kick off the weekend with the great feeling that comes with doing good and important work! Join our Field Work Fridays at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. Every Friday rain or shine, volunteers join staff naturalists to tackle a stewardship project in need of support. Projects include invasive plant removals, trash clean-ups, gardening, citizen science monitoring, and more. Volunteers are welcome to bring a bagged lunch to enjoy after our work is completed. No prior training or experience is necessary to join our Field Work Fridays! Free. Ages 8 and up, minors must be accompanied by a guardian.     • Beginning Tai Chi with Sean Martial (Brooklyn Park Senior Center) Time: 10:45am - 11:45am Locations: Brooklyn Park Senior Activity Center 202 Hammonds Lane Brooklyn Park, MD 21225 Details:

      Tai Chi is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind. As a system of physical exercise used to improve and maintain health, Tai Chi can be helpful in achieving a state of physical and mental relaxation while also strengthening the cardiovascular and immune systems.
