    • Sawmill Workshop Time: 9:00a - 12:00p Location: Kinder Farm Park Details:

      Weather permitting, Kinder Farm Park's very own Sawmill Club will be running logs through the mill. Wood milled from the sawmill can be seen around Kinder Farm park, including inside the Tobacco Barn Museum and Visitor Center.

      Antique Equipment and Sawmill Club’s mission is the restoration and display of the park’s antique farm equipment, tractors and sawmill. Our goal is to offer presentations and displays of antique farm tools and equipment so that those participating can experience farm life in historical Anne Arundel County. The lumber from the sawmill is used in many of the small barns and other structures in the park.

      Anne Arundel County Police Department's 1st annual “Cover the Cruiser” for Special Olympics
       
      August 21- August 25, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

      The goal of this event is for our officers to collect as many donations as possible for the athletes of Special Olympics Maryland (SOMD) by selling paper icons that will be displayed on a police cruiser at the restaurant. The goal is to 'COVER THE CRUISER’! Cover the Cruiser is a Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) fundraising event for Special Olympics Maryland.
       

      Various components of the Anne Arundel County Police Department are participating in this event. Come support a great cause, meet the men and women of the agency and be a part of a great community event! All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Maryland.

    • Not My Child: Heroin Addiction Presentation Time: 6:30p - 8:00p Location: Severna Park Community Library Details:

      There will be a "Not My Child" event regarding substance misuse in our community on August 23, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Severna Park Community Library. Please come out and increase your awareness of this fatal epidemic - it affects all communities.

      Are you concerned that your child might be experiencing with drugs or addicted to drugs? Do you want to be prepared to teach your younger children never to start using? Are you looking for help with treatment?
       

      "Not My Child" is a special presentation to remove the stigma of heroin addiction and get help for families caught in the web of drugs. This presentation will include a panel of experts, question and answer from the audience and treatment providers ready to provide information and referral.
