    • Picturing Women Inventors - A poster exhibition Time: All Day Locations: Odenton Library 1325 Annapolis Road, Odenton 21113 Details:

      The Smithsonian and the United States Patent and Trademark Office presents “Picturing Women Inventors” a poster exhibition that explores the inventions of 19 highly accomplished American women. Astronauts, computer pioneers, and businesswomen join athletes, engineers, and even teenagers in this remarkable group of inventors.


      The posters will be on view at the Odenton Library March 1-31. Use the link below for directions and the phone number to the Odenton Library.

    • Anne Arundel Bird Club Walk Time: 8:00am - 11:00am Locations: Quiet Waters Park - Blue Heron Room Details: Join Anne Arundel Bird Club Members Sue and Alan Young on a bird walk around the park. See how many resident and migrant birds you can spot! Bring good walking shoes and binoculars (not required, but helpful!) Park admission fee is waived for participants. Upon arrival, inform the gate attendant that you are with the Anne Arundel Bird Club. Meet at Blue Heron Center Parking Lot.
       
       
    • Blacksmith Shop Workday Time: 1:00pm - 4:00pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Details: Stop by the Kinder Farm Park Blacksmith Shop and watch the Chesapeake Forge Blacksmith Guild members forging metal, using various tools. Stand on the sidelines and view a trade that is over 100 years old but still very much alive today at Kinder Farm Park. The Blacksmith Shop is open on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
       
       
    • March Equinox Hike Time: 5:00pm - 7:30pm Locations: Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Details: Join Jug Bay  Volunteer and Maryland Master Naturalist, Mike Quinlan, to welcome in the new spring season and enjoy a rare, after hours visit to the Sanctuary.  The official change in season from winter to spring occurs on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 11:32 am and is called the  Vernal Equinox.  The Vernal Equinox marks the turning point when the amount of daylight exceeds the amount of darkness in a 24 hour day.  We'll look for signs of Spring and end at the Observation Deck to watch a beautiful sunset.  All ages able to walk 2-4 miles.     • Kinder Farm Park Owl Prowl Time: 7:15pm - 8:15pm Locations: Kinder Farm Park Visitor Center Details: Come take a walk in Kinder Farm Park to look for owls and other nocturnal animals in the park. Participants will meet at the Park  Visitor Center to go over interesting facts about owls and to familiar themselves with the owl calls. Then they will take an hour walk around the park to popular owl nesting sites with the hope to not just hear owls, but to also see some. Please dress for the weather, a long walk, and bring a flashlight. Please email Ranger Overman at [email protected] to sign up.
